Senior Consultant: Business Analyst

 This role is both technical facing and business facing and so you will need to have brilliant people skills and the ability to translate technical information to a non-technical audience and vice-versa. As a consultant, you will be providing guidance to customers and must be able engage senior stakeholders and end users to understand their needs.

The functional consultant is expected to plan and lead client workshops and meetings, gather, analyse and document customer requirements and perform declarative (point & click) solution development as part of an implementation team.

From a quality assurance perspective, the functional consultant will be responsible for unit testing within the implementation team and supporting customers through more formal testing phases including the analysis, defect triage and resolution of any defects raised.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

 

Customer engagement

  • Plan and lead customer workshops and meetings, presenting and facilitating as required
  • Coordinate, as necessary, relationships with and between key stakeholder during the design, management and implementation of business change
  • Lead both formal demo and informal show & tell sessions

 Requirements management

  • Gather and document functional and non-functional customer requirements
  • Lead engagement with relevant stakeholders to actively manage the documented requirements
  • Manage captured requirements lifecycle from inception to sign-off, through to change management

 Analysis, design and documentation

  • Investigate, analyse and define complex business issues
  • Sketch as-is and to-be business processes and data models using agreed standards and templates
  • Propose possible solutions, identifying alternative solutions, assessing feasibility and recommending any new approaches as applicable
  • Create viable specifications and acceptance criteria that can be understood by customer stakeholders and the implementation team
  • Carry out research at the request of a project manager or line manager

Implementation and testing

  • Participate in the configuration of software packages, primarily Salesforce and CloudSense, as part of an implementation project
  • Perform non-configuration activities including simple data loading and deployments using standard capabilities and tools
  • Responsible for the quality of the delivered solution (QA, test support)
  • Document faults, implementing resolutions and retests to agreed standards

COMPETENCIES  KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE

 

Essential

  • 5+ years’ experience in a customer-facing consulting position, preferably using Salesforce.
  • Strong customer facing skills
  • Excellent presentation and written communication skills
  • Ability to gather requirements, understand constraints and run workshops and meetings using structured and non-structure methods
  • Strong ability to convey technical information to a non-technical audience and vice-versa
  • Experience using business analysis tools and techniques
  • Proven track record of end-to-end delivery, including analysis, build, test and support phases
  • Swift learner, self-directed and organised with a keen eye towards high-quality, on-time work
  • Team player, ability to collaborate and lead an effective team

Desired

  • Hands-on Salesforce configuration experience (Salesfroce.com certification preferred)
  • Telecoms or Media Industry knowledge and experience
  • Order management and CPQ system knowledge and experience
  • Coding experience a plus
  • Change management practical knowledge and experience, including benefit tracking and governance
  • Experience with multiple software development methodologies including waterfall and Agile is an advantage

Travel (50% +) will be required as part of this role.
